Door Supply & Installation Terms and Conditions

BBC · TC · 01

Dear customer, these terms and conditions cover architectural opening sizes and site readiness. They set out where responsibility sits, so that installation is completed to the highest possible standard of quality and precision. Please read them carefully and sign before the installation date is confirmed.

1. Architectural openings, swing directions & flooring

Standard sizes

Rooms 90 cm wide × 2.15 m high; bathrooms 80 cm wide × 2.15 m high. Note that the overall door size is 1 cm smaller than the standard opening sizes stated above.

Openings larger than standard

Where the opening is larger, one (1) additional jamb-extension strip is required — supplied by the customer, or charged at EGP 150 per strip. The measurement must reach us before the installation date is set.

Openings smaller than standard

The architectural opening is cut back to fit the door, at a cost of EGP 500 per opening.

Special cases & openings flush to a wall

Where an opening sits flush against an adjacent wall, leaving no room to fit the frame on one side, the customer is informed that the door cannot be installed, or that it will be replaced with a smaller size so the frame can be fitted on all sides. Should the customer insist on installation, they sign a release of the factory from liability for the result.

Door swing directions

Reporting and confirming the swing directions accurately is the customer's responsibility. Directions cannot be reversed after installation under any circumstances. If a change is requested after installation, the factory is not responsible for the hinge screw holes, which will remain fully visible — alternatively the door is replaced against payment of 75% of its value.

Flooring & parquet

Where parquet is present on site, doors are installed after the parquet, not before. If installation takes place before the parquet without prior notice to us, the door will rub against it, and a maintenance visit of EGP 800 per door will be charged.

Bathroom thresholds

Doors are installed after the bathroom threshold, not before. If installation takes place before the threshold is laid, the factory is not liable for any rubbing of the door; should this occur, a maintenance visit of EGP 800 per door is charged.

2. Wall thickness, projection & extension (cladding)

Standard measurement

Between 15 cm and 19 cm.

Thickness greater than 19 cm (extension / cladding)

The customer notifies us in advance so a dedicated frame extension is manufactured before installation, at EGP 250 per extra 1 cm. If the need for an extension is only discovered at the time of installation, and we were not notified in advance, an additional cost applies: fitting labour (EGP 350 per door) plus transport of the extension from the factory to site (set by the customer's location).

Thickness less than 15 cm

The customer is informed that the projection will stand proud of the wall by the difference below 15 cm; this remains the customer's responsibility.

Changing the projection direction after installation

Where the position and direction of the projection were specified by the customer and the customer then decides, after installation is complete, to reverse it inwards or outwards, full responsibility rests with the customer and a complete installation fee of EGP 800 per door is charged to re-execute the work.

3. Wall level, plumb & cladding (top extension) conditions

General wall level

The customer must confirm the wall is perfectly plumb. Installing doors against an out-of-plumb wall creates gaps between the frame post and the wall, and in that case installation will not be completed.

Wall level for the cladding (top extension above the door)

The wall must be fully plumb so the cladding sits exactly flush with the door. If the wall is not level, the cladding will not be installed at all.

Projection & cladding tolerances

If the wall is out of true relative to the cladding, a difference will appear between the projection and the wall. The factory bears no responsibility for that difference, as cladding and door are installed perfectly straight; where the wall is out of plumb, the factory is not responsible for any cladding fitting issues.

4. Site readiness, other trades & installation components

General readiness

Confirm the site is fully ready: no old wooden frames left in place, and no unfinished porcelain in the bathrooms.

No other trades on site

No other trade may be working on site during door installation. If other trades are present, installation will not go ahead, and the factory is entirely free of liability for any resulting damage to the doors. Doors are installed exclusively at the final finishing stages, to avoid impacts, scratches, or misuse by other trades' workers.

Installation components

The customer must ensure all door components are on site (hinges, lockset, handle, lock cylinder, acoustic seal, and the door assembly corner pieces). This is confirmed with the customer by phone before the date is set, so that work runs smoothly.

Re-installation visit

If installation cannot proceed because the site is not ready, other trades are present, or components are missing, the work is completed on a further paid visit charged at EGP 800 per door.

5. Installation duration (number of doors)

More than 6 doors

Where more than six (6) doors are to be installed, the work takes two working days. The factory will not be able to complete installation in a single day, particularly where the site is inside a compound.

6. Door storage & wrapping

Correct storage (horizontal only)

The customer must lay and store the doors horizontally, flat on the ground, in the designated area and in the correct manner.

Warning against vertical storage

Storing doors upright is strictly prohibited: vertical storage can cause the door to bow and warp.

Storage liability

The factory bears no liability whatsoever for poor storage, or for the horizontal method not being followed by the customer — such as placing heavy loads on the doors or stacking other items on top of them.

Door wrapping

Should the customer wish the doors to be wrapped, the customer arranges this themselves; the factory holds no tools of any kind for wrapping.

7. Handover, communication, opening the doors & final inspection

No direct contact with the technician

Direct communication with the technician on site is strictly prohibited. For any issue or question, contact the installation supervisor exclusively — they reach out to you before installation begins. If an issue is raised with the technician directly, the factory is not responsible for the outcome.

Warning — do not open or close the doors after installation

Opening or closing the doors is strictly prohibited for 24 hours from the date and time installation is completed, so the fixing foam can dry and cure fully. If the doors are operated within this period, it will be evident to the factory from the resulting difficulty in opening or closing the door, and the fault is treated as improper use before the stated period had elapsed.

Presence of the customer or their representative

The customer, or a person formally representing them, must be present during handover and installation.

No one present at handover

If no one is present at handover and installation has been completed, the installation is deemed complete, sound, and free of defects. Should we be contacted after that day with any observation, a maintenance fee of EGP 650 per door applies.

Signing the handover record

Once the customer signs the handover record, the door is deemed fully sound and responsibility for the installation and the doors passes entirely from the factory to the customer. The customer bears the cost of any maintenance or remarks arising after signing.

Technical support & customer service

For any technical issue or enquiry relating to installation or maintenance, please contact the dedicated customer service number exclusively.
