Choosing Door Colours for Your Apartment
Babeco · 2026
Three rules that always work
- Doors darker than the walls frame each room; doors close to the wall colour make a small apartment feel bigger.
- Match the door to the floor or to the furniture, not to both.
- Use one colour for all the doors in the apartment, and if you want contrast, use a design door for the main room only.
Light walls (white, cream, beige)
- 205 golden honey oak or 208 taupe-brown for a warm, bright look.
- 220 pure matte white for a clean, minimal apartment.
- 207 warm mid-tone if you have medium wood floors.
Grey walls
- 201 ash-grey for a calm, all-grey look.
- 218 matte taupe with linen texture as a soft modern contrast.
- 202 deep espresso for strong contrast.
Warm walls (vanilla latte, light brown)
- 204 natural walnut or 206 dark chocolate walnut.
- 207 warm mid-tone as the safe middle choice.
Design doors
For a living room or main bedroom, a design door adds character: 315 is pure white with two slim black grooves, 306 and 311 have panel lines, and 301 has a diagonal accent. Every design comes in the same colours as the flat doors.
